Fall Time Favorites!

Last night we made Carmel apples again for the second time this fall, Yum. I recommend not to try to make more Carmel by adding in brown sugar or butter. Big mistake and I don't know if it was the butter or the brown sugar. Hmm... the first time I made a pot of both Carmel and one of brown sugar and butter this time I just tried to double the recipe because I didn't want to use the other bag of Carmel's that I had bought.

I am very happy to say that we had a great time and since I picked the smallest I was done first! My daughters turned out the nicest in my opinion but everyone did a really great job. My husband had a great time carving too. This was his first time carving a pumpkin with family. I had thought it was the first time he carved a pumpkin but it was his second. His first was a few years ago. His family did not participate in carving as we had always done before.

We had so much fun listening to music and laughing and cutting! What does your family do?

R & R

Today has been some R&R. Spent a little time with my Dad paying some bills and weighing in on the diet. I have lost 2.2lbs. I am excited to be losing! Still searching for a good deal on a good camera.Hope to be getting a Nikon. they look pretty similar to the Cannon and a little less pricey. Don't have much to say today. Hope everyone has time enjoying their families this weekend.

Today and A Little About Yesterday Some Halloween Things Too

Today is a great day and I would like to take my kids to get pumpkins, except living here in Montana there are few patches around and the closest is over 70miles from us one way. Urgh! What shall I do about getting pumpkins for the kids. My husband believes we can get them at the store. Fine, we could very easily do that but it isn't the same. Our kids are getting so old that they should hit a pumpkin patch sometime soon before they don't want to. Those days are just around the corner. I would drive over 140miles round trip to get them to a pumpkin patch but our car is broke. We have a very nice rig but it quit starting and now it is at the shop. My Dad is gracious enough he is letting me use his truck.

My dad's truck is big and get even less gas mileage then our beast of a SUV. However,  my husband was raised not to have Halloween. For the first time it means something to him and he wants to go all out with our kids. I became a Christian in April 2007 and they do not believe in celebrating a pagan holiday. I get that we should not celebrate pagan holidays but only if that is what you make it. We are not making it that. Every year we let them go with their Dad for Halloween and they think we are just a bunch of sticks in the mud. Not this year, well they will still go with their Dad but this year we are carving pumpkins with them. Yay! This will be the first year my husband has EVER carved a pumpkin. How can we raise our kids to want to be Christians if we take all that is normal and fun away from them. I grew up with Halloween and my husband well he did not. This year we will be celebrating fall with pumpkins and spooky fun things. No we will not be paying tribute to the pagans but we will be making memories with our kids.

What do you do with your kids on October 31?

His plan: Gain weight and Muscle... My Plan: Lose weight and Gain Muscle

This is week four of my husbands enlistment and week three of my WW diet plan. I have so far only lost .02 lbs. Yes, you read that right. I have been working very hard to get back down to where I was at when we met and that is 60 lbs smaller than now. I have faith and hope and God, I will succeed! Please feel free to leave comments and join me on our travels through time and space. You may here me talk of our happiness and great days but don't be mistaken that we have our trying and tested days too. Our life is far from picture perfect and we do our best to be smiling each and every day. I broke our camera and hope to buy an point and shoot very soon. Our children love to pose for the camera and are very photogenic!

Week Four

This is the fourth week since my husband whom at home we call Pokey has enlisted. Just a few short months ago my husband told me he wanted to join National Guard which quickly changed and became Active Army. Since he was sworn in four weeks ago thoughts have begun dancing around in my head. Where will we be posted? What do I sale and what do I keep? Will he be put on a tour as soon as AIT is over? Many thoughts and questions arise in these days. Time seems to be moving very quickly and before I know it my husband will be leaving and going off to Boot Camp and coming back a soldier.

I am ready for this. I want to follow him wherever God may lead us. My son told me this summer that he is enlisting into the Army this coming summer. He is 17 years old now and lives in Oregon with his Dad. My husband you may ask is how old? He is 32 and I am 34. My husband looks in his young twenties when all clean shaved. He is very fit and I have no worries of the physical attributes he may be lacking because I know if he is he will soon be to par with the rest if not before leaving.

They don't ship off until sometime in 2012. Yes, 2012 and just before spring. Our new destination will not be in our future until the fall of the coming year. It may seem like a very long time to you but for me time is flying by. For my husband, Oh I haven;t even mentioned his name or mine. Zach known by us as Pokey. Pokey is indeed another blog for a different day. My name is Morhia and he calls me Momo. Our kids are very excited about are new adventures that he has signed us to all be on. I hope the time before his departure is memorable and time moves slowly while he thinks it can't get here soon enough. I have read some blogs from some other military wives and was inspired to start my own blog. I am thankful to have some kind of link to these woman and you may hear me talk of the postings they add.
Ann from HouseholdDiva6 http://household6diva.com/ was my first one to connect with and from there it begun to have the snowball effect. Soon I then found Sidnie from GreenEnoughForMe
and read all of her posting for many years of sharing in about two weeks. Both have been a major inspiration for me and I hope to be lucky enough to meet them someday. My husband would love to be stationed in Germany and they are stationed there now. They may have moved on by then but i guess we will not know until that time comes. "See" everyone next week.
