3 More Days

Three more days, wait a minute that should say four more days. Nope!
It is true for us. We open our gifts on Christmas Eve every year. See Santa is so busy he comes to our house a whole day early. Always has and always will. Even when we have grandchildren it will be the same way. We like it this way maybe you should try it too!
Making fabulous food and playing Christmas music and watching Christmas movies too! We enjoy our time together. We are having a Santa Fe Christmas Dinner. We did traditional Thanksgiving and now it is time for the HOT to bust out! My dad being a National Chili Cook loves to make HOT FOODS! I love Hot Foods and this works well for me.
I am having the in-laws over again and this time they will experience some great New Mexican Food, Yum!
What kind of food do you make for Christmas?

Christmas Gift Blog Exchange

This year was so much fun learning new traditions and meeting and learning about new people!

Brooke from http://themtnmillers.blogspot.com/ was my blogging Christmas exchange buddy and she is great!
She is an amazing musician and you can here a small piece of what she does here.
Talented She Is!

I will treasure these gifts for a lifetime. I hope to tell my kids every year of this and keep these memories in a memory treasure box. Did I mention how much I appreciate this and the great person I have had the joy of learning about. I have learned that she is a Cardinal Fan as well as a beautiful Harp musician who loves to play for her Aunt and that her husband enjoys sitting around listening too =)

I have been truly blessed by getting to know her and Love the gifts she picked for me!

Thanks Laura for setting this all up!

Christmas Decorating

As Promised I bring to all Christmas Decorating! I know now that I have this great camera I should be taking lots more pictures. And I will, but I am having a slow start of things. I hope to get better about adding posts since I do read them everyday. I am bummed out when I check my fellow bloggers pages and see nothing new added.

So since I love to read the new posts I will diligently work harder at posting some of my own. I just love Christmas gifts. I have found some really extraordinary gifts for my new family. I have also came up with a great basket idea for different people too! I have big plans for next Christmas and only wish to have came up with some crafty ideas earlier. I would love to post some of these great gifts but some may actually read these. This was at our local Town Tree Lighting this year. There were many people and we had cocoa and popcorn there.

This is our Tree finally decorated and as my daughter says to RED! The big picture on the tree that is big and white is our first Christmas together as a family (Step Dad Included) from 2009.

It's Been Awhile!

I am so excitged with all the holiday decorating and things that take place in December! I have many new pics to add but usuall don't remember to add a note when I have my camera with me...

I wonder what all of my readers must be doing. I read one of the most fun blogs yesterday. You can find a link Here. This sounds like it would not only be thrifty on the pocket book but fun to do too. I also read about a Faux Fireplace too! There are so many neat things that people come up with and I wonder what talents or crafty ideas you have had?

I thought it may be fun to add some pictures that don't even relate to this post to keep it fun! Hope everyone enjoyed and be sure to leave your comments, Merry Christmas Eveyone!

Christmas Parties - New Camera

I can imagine what some may be thinking, “Where’s the Pictures?” I have my new camera and am taking many great photos, (Ok only a few) and haven’t posted anything yet. I am guilty of working to much and getting into the Christmas movies. Christmas is my favorite time of the year. My mom would have Christmas music playing from Thanksgiving ‘til Christmas. My mom went to live with Jesus nine years ago. At Christmas time I feel unbelievably close to her like she is right here with me. I am addicted to the Hallmark channel because they are playing all the great movies!

We all know the kind. Movies filled with magic, and mystery. Love and Romance! I am thankful to have two kids who enjoy these movies too! My soldier is the very anti Holiday Fun kind of guy.  I don’t know why he is so discouraged most times and would rather not participate in most anything that is fun or filled with magical moments. We are however planning on going to this beautiful Christmas party this weekend that my work is putting on. There probably won’t be any alcohol which may mean lots of laughing and dancing! I have not been to one of these with this company. At my husbands work parties they have beer, wine and reminisce of times from before. Don’t get me wrong both kind are a hoot.

My husband and I are going to be escaping over night since the drive is 140 miles and very dangerous at night with the ice, snow, and animals. We are staying at the Red Lion! Sunday before coming home we will be doing the last of the Christmas shopping. I have it all done but he has done none of it and wants to buy things too. I hope this means great things for me. Usually we take the kids so we can each take one and go do our own shopping but not this time. It may be difficult for him to shop with me there. I   promise to upload pictures very soon!
What do you do when it is just your husband and you?

My Boys Being Boys

My husband and youngest son out hunting. No luck on this trip but lots of beautiful scenery!

 Everything was just beautiful!

Wish we would have been there at the right times!

Do you go with your family hunting?

Camera

I am thankful today because I will be getting the camera I really wanted Friday. You may be thinking that this was quick to come up with this money since I just begun saving and all. You would be right! My Dad told me today that he is buying it for Christmas for me and my husband for Christmas!
I did just buy a cheap one for $30 and have taken a few pictures with it so far. I am also happy to know that the camera that I want takes the same kind of card. I will not have it in time for Thanksgiving but will have it in time for Christmas! I hope to take lots of pictures before my husband leaves for BCT. His request is for me to send pictures with him.
Does anyone know if these pictures can be taken with him for the long lengths of time they make him wait to call?

Snow

I wish to get a camera! Nobody knows just how much I wish to get a camera. I am saving to buy the one I really want but for now I hope to get even a small point and shoot for Christmas. It is beautiful here today! The snow that God left last night is just wonderful. My youngest was out rolling snow balls before school today and was very happy. You may have read my last post about Hunting Season.

My son is very happy about Hunting Season. Yet, today when he woke up to all this beautiful white stuff all over the ground he let us know he wanted to go sledding this weekend rather than Hunting. If anyone remembers how my husband feels about hunting then you know this made him very happy to hear it. So this weekend we are planning a trip to go sledding! Maybe it will snow more and I can make snow ice cream, Yum!
What do you and your family do when it snows?

Hunting Season in the Great Northwest

It is now the middle of hunting season and Bre our daughter does not like the thought of killing animals but decided to go with us and bring her camera. It was nice to have someone in the truck with me while I would drop off the boys then pick them up down the road. Today we found bear scat while out hunting. Right after that my soldier found two deer that he spooked and ran off. Still waiting for Santa to bring me a camera but soon he will and I will have pictures up for everyone. We did not get anything today, bummer. We hope to be done here soon. We like to do family things on Sunday but hunting is not my husbands or my daughters favorite thing. My husband HATES hunting. My son LOVES hunting. Hope my son get his deer or elk soon so everyone will be happy :) What does your family do during hunting season?

Cleaning House

Today is a day for mopping, waxing floors, vacuuming, laundry, and time with one of my good friends! Got up early this morning to clean house and get ready for a Pampered Chef party. Last night went to wait for my husband while he was training and taking PT tests. He passed like I knew he would, Hooray!
What do you do one your weekends when you aren’t working?

Fall Time Favorites!

Last night we made Carmel apples again for the second time this fall, Yum. I recommend not to try to make more Carmel by adding in brown sugar or butter. Big mistake and I don't know if it was the butter or the brown sugar. Hmm... the first time I made a pot of both Carmel and one of brown sugar and butter this time I just tried to double the recipe because I didn't want to use the other bag of Carmel's that I had bought.

I am very happy to say that we had a great time and since I picked the smallest I was done first! My daughters turned out the nicest in my opinion but everyone did a really great job. My husband had a great time carving too. This was his first time carving a pumpkin with family. I had thought it was the first time he carved a pumpkin but it was his second. His first was a few years ago. His family did not participate in carving as we had always done before.

We had so much fun listening to music and laughing and cutting! What does your family do?

R & R

Today has been some R&R. Spent a little time with my Dad paying some bills and weighing in on the diet. I have lost 2.2lbs. I am excited to be losing! Still searching for a good deal on a good camera.Hope to be getting a Nikon. they look pretty similar to the Cannon and a little less pricey. Don't have much to say today. Hope everyone has time enjoying their families this weekend.

Today and A Little About Yesterday Some Halloween Things Too

Today is a great day and I would like to take my kids to get pumpkins, except living here in Montana there are few patches around and the closest is over 70miles from us one way. Urgh! What shall I do about getting pumpkins for the kids. My husband believes we can get them at the store. Fine, we could very easily do that but it isn't the same. Our kids are getting so old that they should hit a pumpkin patch sometime soon before they don't want to. Those days are just around the corner. I would drive over 140miles round trip to get them to a pumpkin patch but our car is broke. We have a very nice rig but it quit starting and now it is at the shop. My Dad is gracious enough he is letting me use his truck.

My dad's truck is big and get even less gas mileage then our beast of a SUV. However,  my husband was raised not to have Halloween. For the first time it means something to him and he wants to go all out with our kids. I became a Christian in April 2007 and they do not believe in celebrating a pagan holiday. I get that we should not celebrate pagan holidays but only if that is what you make it. We are not making it that. Every year we let them go with their Dad for Halloween and they think we are just a bunch of sticks in the mud. Not this year, well they will still go with their Dad but this year we are carving pumpkins with them. Yay! This will be the first year my husband has EVER carved a pumpkin. How can we raise our kids to want to be Christians if we take all that is normal and fun away from them. I grew up with Halloween and my husband well he did not. This year we will be celebrating fall with pumpkins and spooky fun things. No we will not be paying tribute to the pagans but we will be making memories with our kids.

What do you do with your kids on October 31?

His plan: Gain weight and Muscle... My Plan: Lose weight and Gain Muscle

This is week four of my husbands enlistment and week three of my WW diet plan. I have so far only lost .02 lbs. Yes, you read that right. I have been working very hard to get back down to where I was at when we met and that is 60 lbs smaller than now. I have faith and hope and God, I will succeed! Please feel free to leave comments and join me on our travels through time and space. You may here me talk of our happiness and great days but don't be mistaken that we have our trying and tested days too. Our life is far from picture perfect and we do our best to be smiling each and every day. I broke our camera and hope to buy an point and shoot very soon. Our children love to pose for the camera and are very photogenic!

Week Four

This is the fourth week since my husband whom at home we call Pokey has enlisted. Just a few short months ago my husband told me he wanted to join National Guard which quickly changed and became Active Army. Since he was sworn in four weeks ago thoughts have begun dancing around in my head. Where will we be posted? What do I sale and what do I keep? Will he be put on a tour as soon as AIT is over? Many thoughts and questions arise in these days. Time seems to be moving very quickly and before I know it my husband will be leaving and going off to Boot Camp and coming back a soldier.

I am ready for this. I want to follow him wherever God may lead us. My son told me this summer that he is enlisting into the Army this coming summer. He is 17 years old now and lives in Oregon with his Dad. My husband you may ask is how old? He is 32 and I am 34. My husband looks in his young twenties when all clean shaved. He is very fit and I have no worries of the physical attributes he may be lacking because I know if he is he will soon be to par with the rest if not before leaving.

They don't ship off until sometime in 2012. Yes, 2012 and just before spring. Our new destination will not be in our future until the fall of the coming year. It may seem like a very long time to you but for me time is flying by. For my husband, Oh I haven;t even mentioned his name or mine. Zach known by us as Pokey. Pokey is indeed another blog for a different day. My name is Morhia and he calls me Momo. Our kids are very excited about are new adventures that he has signed us to all be on. I hope the time before his departure is memorable and time moves slowly while he thinks it can't get here soon enough. I have read some blogs from some other military wives and was inspired to start my own blog. I am thankful to have some kind of link to these woman and you may hear me talk of the postings they add.
Ann from HouseholdDiva6 http://household6diva.com/ was my first one to connect with and from there it begun to have the snowball effect. Soon I then found Sidnie from GreenEnoughForMe
and read all of her posting for many years of sharing in about two weeks. Both have been a major inspiration for me and I hope to be lucky enough to meet them someday. My husband would love to be stationed in Germany and they are stationed there now. They may have moved on by then but i guess we will not know until that time comes. "See" everyone next week.
